Zusammenfassung
This week has Webflow Silently and secretly two exciting updates introduced: One new spam protection, the Bots and blocks unwanted form submissions, as well as the ability to Heading tags to dynamically control components via props. These updates give developers more flexibility and security when designing websites.
Key Take-Aways
• New spam protection & bot blocking: Automatic protection against unwanted form submissions and bots. This feature can be turned off if necessary if legitimate submissions are marked as spam. Changes require the website to be republished.
• Dynamic heading tags in components: Heading tags (h1-h6) can now be dynamically controlled via props in components. This saves time and eliminates the need for workarounds such as rich text or multiple components.
• Improved flexibility for developers: With dynamic control of heading tags, developers can more easily adjust the structure of their pages and optimize it for SEO.
• More control over form submissions: Spam Protection provides advanced security features without the need for additional tools or plugins.
• Easy management of settings: Changes to spam protection or heading tags can be made via the Webflow interface but require republishing to go live.

Headline tag prop for components
Previously, in a heading element that was within a component, the tag setting (h1-h6) could not be linked to a prop. As developers, we had to use workarounds such as the custom element, rich text, multiple visibility props, or duplicate components to adjust the headline tags. The heading tag can now be linked to a prop so that it can be set on an instance of the component!
Now only one SPAN property is missing, then I'm happy. 😁

New spam protection and bot blocking in Webflow?
Quietly and secretly, Webflow has released a new feature that prevents spam submissions and bots from filling out forms on your website. If legitimate submissions are mistakenly marked as spam, you can simply turn off this feature — but you'll need to republish your page to apply the changes.
There isn't much talk about it yet, but it seems like Webflow wants to surprise us with a new level of security. Perhaps these are the first steps towards a major update? 👀
